Development: Tools for Growth and Administering the New Church
Administrative Systems
Every gardener uses tools to make the work go easier. Most church planters are big-picture visionaries and have a hard time with details. Most church planters are focused on ministry to people and get frustrated with administrative details.
Yet, if you forget to use the watering can to irrigate or the shovel to aerate, the trees may suffer. And then the gardener has to work harder than ever to try to save the plant. If a church planter fails to submit reports, incorporates improperly, or knows how to develop systems for administration, then the church plant will suffer as well.
Wise church planters find good administrators to help them. And, they learn how to use systems to help them with this detail work so they don’t have to create the wheel with each report.
